The Gene Technology Standing Committee (GTSC) have consulted with stakeholders to inform the best approach to implementing recommendations from the 2017 review. Following this, they released an implementation strategy.
The GTSC held webinars with stakeholders to get feedback on proposed options put forward for consultation. The Gene Technology Ministers’ Meeting has now endorsed a decision regulation impact statement that identifies a preferred option.
To adopt the preferred option, we will need to update the legislation.
